IN THE NEWSA Message from CEO Gordon McGiltonDate: 02/09/2007The warfare that has ensued in the global war on terror has confirmed the sober reality that improvised explosive devices, roadside bombs, and land mines will be a permanent danger to our troops for the duration of this conflict and of future conflicts. Since 2003, Force Protection has developed and delivered armored vehicles to the global war on terror that have an unmatched record for troop safety and in-theater performance. Our Buffalo and Cougar vehicles have logged more than 2 million hours of heavy combat operations, and have withstood in excess of 2,000 IED attacks. The depth and scope of the need for this blast protection technology has driven us to dramatically increase our in-house manufacturing capacity. We have done so successfully and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Future demands could require us, as the leading producer in the United States, to efficiently mobilize major components of the defense industry. In preparation to capitalize on these potential opportunities, Force Protection has formed partnering agreements with some of the largest defense manufacturers in the world, including BAE Systems and Armor Holdings. These agreements will assist us as we continue our production expansion efforts. We have also formed a joint venture company, Force Dynamics, LLC, with General Dynamics Land Systems. This joint venture was created to combine our propriety armored vehicle designs with an enormous additional production capacity that will enable us to supply troops with these vehicles in greater numbers than ever before. Force Protection takes seriously the charge to lead the way in meeting the critical need for this life-saving technology. Force Protection, Force Dynamics and its other partners have in place the means to supply our vehicles in large numbers. We are only awaiting the request from our customers to do so. We have put these elements in place to ensure the continued fulfillment of our commitment to build and deliver vehicles that protect and save lives. Back |
