U.S. Army Issues Force Protection, Inc. Contract for Additional Buffalo Parts and Supplies

Publisher: Force Protection, Inc.
Date: 02/13/2006

Ladson, SC - Force Protection, Inc. (OCTBB:FRPT) today announced a U.S. Army contract for up to $5 million for authorized stockage list supplies to service its Buffalo route clearance vehicle. The contract was issued by the Army's Tank-automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, Michigan.

“This contract is an indication of the breadth and depth of the resources and expertise being brought to bear to supply our troops with the best protective equipment possible,” said CEO Gordon McGilton.

The Buffalo has been deployed in mine clearance operations since 2003. The Tank-automotive and Armaments Command recently placed its first order, for approximately 19 Buffalo vehicles.

“Force Protection is committed to ensuring the optimal performance of its vehicles in critical missions throughout the world,” said CEO Gordon McGilton. “Troops receive not only the cutting-edge technology incorporated into our vehicles, but also the support necessary to keep them in the fight.”

The Buffalo is being used to clear thousands of suspected explosive devices in Iraq, Afghanistan and other global hot spots. While Force Protection does not publicize the exact location or number of vehicles deployed, more than 50 Buffalos have been delivered to the U.S. government in the past three years.
