To the Ladies and Gentlemen who spend their long hours fabricating the Cougar (or as we call it JERRV) the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Techs from the 707th EOD Company out of Camp Taji (Al-Taji), Camp Liberty (Baghdad), and JSS N. (Tarimiyah) would like to express our sincerest gratitude.
The protection improvements and operational luxuries that the Cougar provides over the HMMWV are both immense and at times unquantifiable. However, after 15 IED strikes that our company has endured, one solid figure remains: not a single one has resulted in injury to the passengers secured inside this amazing piece of equipment. These strikes have ranged from relatively small blasts to massive shots. At many times our security elements who witnessed these attacks thought surely the crew would be injured or killed, but blast after blast, the vehicle has retained its impeccable reputation as the baddest damn vehicle in theater.
