Just prior to the first national elections in Iraq, an 8-man quick reaction force team was sent to investigate a group of IEDs down the road from our compound. Before they ever arrived at the intended site, their vehicle ran over an IED that had been buried. The explosion blew all the tires and damaged the windows on the 6x6 Cougar, but it came back on the run-flat tires and under its own power - all eight men safe . . . just their ears ringing. They are alive because they were in a Cougar.

PS - Your (Force Protection's) field service rep and my maintenance team repaired that vehicle, and it was back in operation within a few days.
