The Buffalo isn't as much a vehicle as it is a rolling fortress, a monolithic battlewagon whose every line is a testament of function over form. The Buffalo has the toughest niche job in the US Army - to find and destroy the insidious IEDs the insurgents plant along the roads.
The vehicle was fitted with a massive new engine, the four enormous tires were replaced with six tires - each even larger, and state of the art electronics were mounted. The crowning touch was a powerful robotic arm that looked like the space shuttle's manipulator on steroids.
American ingenuity has taken something good, and made it great.
